The place I go

There is a place I go,

When the world turns grey,

And the sounds of the earth fall mute.

There is a place I go,

When the light fades dark,

And temperature goes absolute.

This place that I see,

The land of my mind,

Is no site of serenity.

This place that I see,

The scope in my head,

Is where I seek identity.

That place I explore,

With doubts on my back,

Is where I find reflection.

That place I explore,

With fear at my feet

Is where I regain direction.

There is a place I fly,

When the spirit grows wings,

From great pride and admiration.

There is a place I fly,

When self arises,

With confidence and elation.

She strode by, slowly sashaying hips

lean legs striding with purpose,

as hair bounces slightly-the tips

brushing shoulders.

But I see none of these lovely sights,

nor the ray of sun beaming in her eyes

- It is upon her smile my thoughts alight

Enchanting.

She stops ahead, filling glass

as drops of water trail down exposed wrist,

chest rising with inhaled breath- sass

hinted at with raised brow

And back she comes, smirk on her face

Growing into that full formed smile

that caused time to stop its pace-

But then she passed, and the world grew dim

emma… please grace me with your presence once in my life.
